The Little Giant Refuse Vehicle will provide operator comfort, safety, and accessibility coupled with a rugged dependable operating platform. The vehicle utilizes a full frame under carriage, suspension, and has hydraulic capability. There is currently two models engineered both utilizing a proportional hydraulic control system, high torque hydraulic pump, and liquid-cooled gas or diesel power plant.

The need presents itself. Design a lightweight refuse collection vehicle that would lift and dump 30 to 55 gallon trash receptacles while traversing soft surface terrains.This is a specialized vehicle that will open a new market in the Waste Management Industry.

Types of Receptacles
There are various types and sizes of containers. Cities throughout the United States use containers such as these for public trash receptacles.
Trash receptacles use replaceable plastic liner insert to prevent waste leaks. The plastic liner insert provide a handle from which to remove trash from the can. As well also pollutes the environment and does not breakdown in landfills.
Changing trash liners occur daily or weekly, depending on the use. Trash liners average cost is .52 cents.
Using this Specialized Vehicle will save thousands on trash liners.
Current Refuse Removal Process
There currently is no automated method for removing large amounts of refuse from soft surface areas and public venues.
A Typical Trash Removal Process:
- First put on gloves and eye protection
- Pull the trash liner out of the can
- Insert a new trash liner into the can
- Throw the trash onto the truck or utility vehicle
- When vehicle is completely load, handle the trash again during transfer to a dumpster
The process is very physical and requires a strong individual to perform the work.

- Any vehicle with trailer
Limitations to current vehicles used in removing trash from these areas:
- Takes many trips to the dumpster to unload
